Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 20, 2026
NotiBird ("the Service") is operated by Hyeonwook Kim. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information – When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and display name from the identity provider.
- Saved URLs – URLs you add to the Service, along with metadata we fetch from those pages (page title, description, Open Graph image).
- Push notification token – A device token issued by Expo to deliver reminders to your device.
- AI API key (optional) – If you choose to connect your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key for improved event extraction, that key is stored in our database. It is used solely to make API calls on your behalf and is never shared with third parties. Each API call consumes tokens from your account with the respective provider, which may incur charges billed directly to you by that provider.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the core Service: saving URLs, detecting event dates, and sending reminders.
- To authenticate you securely via Google or Apple Sign In.
- To send push notifications to the device you registered.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising.
3. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on the following third-party providers. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Google OAuth – for authentication. Google Privacy Policy
- Apple Sign In – for authentication. Apple Privacy Policy
- Expo (push notifications) – Expo servers relay push notifications to your device. Expo Privacy Policy
4. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app's Account Settings screen. Deletion removes all your bookmarks, settings, and personal information from our servers.
5. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data (encrypted connections via HTTPS, restricted database access). However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
